The Pioneer Club

The Pioneer Club is one of the popular social facilities for the use and enjoyment of all residents of Darrenwood Village. Many happy events take place in the Club House where one can meet people and make new friends.

The Club has a fully equipped kitchen, so it can also be made use of by residents for private functions like birthday teas and celebratory lunches. It has a small, but interesting Library, and residents of the Club side of the stream, collect their posts there. Regular events that take place to which all are welcome are:

  •  Wednesday Pub Evenings where you can have a drink or two and a delicious supper. Lots of fun and laughter is the recipe for this event.
  • Tuesday afternoon Movies. We show movies of your choice followed by tea and cake.
  • Every second Thursday afternoon, the Knit and Natter Group meet. Wool is provided to knit for children's charities, or just come and chat and enjoy a cup of tea and cake.

Other events include :

  • Retailers frequently come with their goods on Saturday mornings for the convenience of the Villagers. They bring a range of clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc.
  • Meetings are also held here.
  • Significant sports meets are shown on the TV, and people come together to cheer for their favorite teams.
  • We cover donated Library Books in the Club for disadvantaged schools and enjoy the company of those who volunteer for this worthy cause.
